"The only people that don't have workplace stress are trust fund babies ... if you don't think we are in particularly stressful times for American business, you're kidding yourself. Prepare to beat stress or prepare to beaten by it."
Doc Dixon

Stress. Is it a bad thing? Is it a good thing? Is it even a “thing” – meaning, is it real? The answer to all of these questions is “yes ... and no.”

It depends on what kind of stress you’re talking about.
Different stresses require different approaches.
That's the lesson of the E.A.R. approach.

E is for Eliminate Stress That’s Not Reality-based
Imaginary slights from coworkers and prospects/customers
Imputing wrong motives
False assumptions like: Forgetting that the business process has its ups and downs (not every prospect says “yes”)

A is for Attack Stress that is UNNECESSARY
– the stress you can eliminate before it happens
Learn to identify it bad stress before it gets out of hand.
Three areas to check:
Behavioral—what you DO – irritated, change in habits, isolated, absenteeism
Physiological – what you FEEL – headaches, pains
Psychological – what you THINK -- irritability, low self-esteem, forgetfulness

Be alert for Situations that MAGNIFY reality-based stress and how to deal with the
specific stresses they cause (from a employee and management perspective)
●Lack of organizational skills
●Lack of time management skills
Procrastination
“Are you unknowingly planning on being stressed out 6 months from now because of what you’re doing today?”
●Lack of good health habits
●Lack of clear objectives
●Lack of healthy relationships at work
